learning from mistakes

everyday is like a new adventure.
it’s an opportunity to learn from the mistakes you made yesterday.
yet some of us, choose to ignore our past mistakes – believing that the next time you do it, it won’t be a mistake anymore.

we believe in it. we believe in that last strand of hope we have left.
and it fails us.
we fall back into that pithole that we were in yesterday.
and then we tell ourselves,
“i told you so.”

fall in and out

It’s like this animation where you rewind and forward and rewind and forward this figuring in and out of a hole.
you’re never going to let her drop or get out of it.
she’s just hanging there.

i guess that’s life in general – you never know when you’re going to finally get out of the hell hole but there’s no sign of the hell hole reaching its’ end.

acceptance

most of the time – we try our best to please and meet expectations that people set for us.
“get an A”
“be the best student”
“be the best friend”
“be the person that change the world”
we meet them because we want to get accepted.
we want our parents, our friends, people around us to accept us for who we portray ourselves to be – smart, fun, loving, caring, cool gangsta etc etc.
but what we neglect is who we truly are – or maybe, we’ve lost that already.

years and years of tweaking yourself just to be someone that is accepted in society and you forget who you are deep inside. because what happened to “everyone is unique”
as we try and try to get accepted – we forget who we really are. who we really want to be. all the dreams we had.
some of us wanted to be artistes in the entertainment industry but everyone says that you’ll be looked down upon – that’s when we lose it.

it’s hard to get accepted
but then again, is it necessary for us to get accepted?
is it worth the years of trying just to be accepted in this society?

the sad truth – yes.

Lesson 1: Never bathe at midnight

especially when you are dead exhausted and you can’t sleep because your hair is wet.
can’t believe it.

Love.

What is love.
Exactly.

Is it the act of sacrificing oneself for someone else?
Is it the act of being able to tolerate each other’s short comings?
Is it the act of knowing that even though he doesn’t love you as much as you do to him, you’ll still stay by him?

leadership,

LEADERSHIP.
It’s something that we all have to face some time in our life, it’s something that many try their very best to avoid.

Responsibility.
Leadership is more than just the position, it’s about being responsible and answering for all your followers, for all your fellow teammates. It’s about being responsible for the dynamics, the end result and all the in-betweens. A leader does not simply delegate tasks – he thinks through, ensures that all is safe and makes sure everyone learns something by the time he leaves.

Inspiring.
Many a times, what people fail to realize is that leadership is the ability to inspire others. It is to be someone that your followers want to learn from (the good things) and to be that someone they turn to for advice. You have to be that “superhero” in their life, that one role model that they want to be or exceed. At the same time, it is essential that you be good enough for them to WANT to be inspired by you.

Friendship.
Leadership is not just about commanding and being in power. At times, it is important that you step down from your role and just be their friend. Laugh, joke, eat, drink with them as if there were no boundaries, as if you’re just someone they can speak comfortably to. Being a leader is being able to distinguish that fine line between friendship and command.

Motivation.
You’ve got to keep them going no matter how hard things get, no matter how much they wish to give up. You got to be that someone they rely on for support and encouragement, someone that gives them hope once again to continue. It’s to make the least motivated person become one of the best.

Leadership at its’ best, is ultimately not determined by the position you hold, how high your grades are or how much you earn. It is ultimately determined by the amount of support you have, the amount of people who follow after you, who are influenced by you and the amount of people whom had THEIR lives changed BY you.

That’s true leadership, that’s being a true leader
Something that I will aspire to be.

About time….

Hmm, it’s about time I blog again. LMAO.
I do kinda miss blogging anyway, it’s like talking to an imaginary friend….. /forever alone/

2012.
Brought about new experiences in the first 2 weeks, boarding didn’t turn out as smooth as I thought it would be… would seriously rather spend hours travelling then stay in hostel T_T
Made new friends, got a new class, whole new beginning hopefully?

I actually made a whole new year post but it’s saved as drafts and I don’t really intend to post it.. It was like a reflection thing. Mmmmmm.

As we grow a year older, we start to realize, really, you got to put your feelings and emotions aside and do things objectively. And that money isn’t easy to come by T_T (Thus, the need to STOP spending)

1 dress, 2 shoes + (previously.. 2 dress, 1 top)

… oh my life.

I seriously think I can do this!

I can stay up until 3 am and not feel tired!
